This policy covers the Chrome extension "Hintx Leads — Google Maps to WhatsApp" ("the extension"). We wrote it in plain language because the honest answer is short: we do not collect your data.
Summary
- The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
- Everything the extension saves (your leads, message templates, and settings) is stored locally in your own browser using Chrome's built-in storage. It never leaves your device to us.
- The extension makes no network requests to Hintx servers. We have no servers for it. We cannot see your leads, your templates, your searches, or anything else.
- There are no analytics, trackers, or advertising identifiers in the extension.
What the extension stores, and where
When you use the extension, the following is saved locally in your browser only (via chrome.storage.local):
- Leads you extract — business information (name, phone number, category, rating, website, address) that was publicly visible on the Google Maps results page you were viewing, extracted only when you click the Extract button.
- Your message templates — text you write yourself.
- Your settings — such as your default country and daily usage count.
This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all of it. You can also delete individual leads at any time inside the extension.
What the extension reads
The extension runs only on Google Maps pages. When you click Extract, it reads the business listings currently visible on your screen — the same publicly available information you can see yourself. It does not browse, crawl, or load any pages in the background, and it does nothing on Google Maps until you click.
Third-party services
- WhatsApp: when you click the WhatsApp button on a lead, the extension opens a standard wa.me link in a new tab with your message pre-filled. You review and send every message yourself. Anything that happens inside WhatsApp is governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy (a Meta service), not ours.
- Google Maps: the extension operates on pages you visit on Google Maps, which is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.
- Payments (Pro plan): if you upgrade to the paid Pro plan, payment is processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Payment processing is governed by ExtensionPay's and Stripe's privacy policies. If you use the free plan, no payment information exists at all.
What we never do
We never collect browsing history. We never read pages other than Google Maps. We never send messages on your behalf. We never sell or share data — there is no data on our side to sell. We do not use remote code.
Your responsibility as a user
The extension helps you contact businesses whose details are publicly listed on Google Maps. You are responsible for using it in line with WhatsApp's terms of service and the messaging, marketing, and data-protection laws that apply in your country and your recipients' countries. We recommend respectful, personalized, low-volume outreach.
Children
The extension is a business tool and is not directed at children under 18.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's behavior ever changes in a way that affects privacy (for example, a future feature that requires a network request), we will update this policy before releasing that feature and change the effective date above.
